Essay

The thesis deals with the complex research of strains of Chlamydomonas s.l. for features that can be used in the identification of chlamydomonads considering molecular-phylogenetic relationships within order Volvocales. For the first time a comparative morphological study of 70 reference strains of genus Chlamydomonas from 6 molecular clades was performed under an agar culture. As a result, the original descriptions for each of 6 clades representing Chlamydomonas-like algae were proposed. The variant of Chlorophyceae system was proposed. The Chalmydomonas-like algae were presented in 4 orders of this class.
