Essay

The thesis reveals the shortlist of most invasive taxa including 84 species and gives its taxonomic, chorologic and ecological analysis. Based on comprehensive distributional data on 10 selected invasive species modeling of spatial potential distribution of these species in North America have been made. For the first time, a comparative edaphic analysis has been made. Data on the main biotic invasion hypotheses are summarized and methods of prevention and mitigation of invasions(including biocontrol) are described.
