Кolodjazhenska T. Mesophanerophytes of genus Juniperus L. in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine: biological peculiarities, introduction

The work is focused on the study of the biological and ecological characteristics of genus's mesophanerophytes Juniperus L. in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The seasonal rhythm of development, growth dynamics of plants' vegetative shoots, features plant roots, аbundance formation of generative organs were investigated. The seeds and cones were specified with full morphological descriptions. Defective seeds were classified for periods of ovule abortion. Apart from that, there is a comparative estimation of drought- and frost-resistance. The proper treatment for overcoming juniper seeds dormancy has been selected. Тhe dependence of the regeneration ability of cuttings from stock plants age has been determined.
