Essay

The thesis deals with experimental studies of the saturation kinetics of fullerite C60 with gases with different microscopic parameters. X-ray diffraction technique was employed to determine how the lattice parameter depends on the of saturation with such intercalants as H2, Ne, and Ar at room temperature and a pressure of 1 atm and to establish the saturation parameters. A new method to determine the diffusion parameters for small particles is proposed. A new mechanism is suggested to explain the contribution of inclusion impurities to the thermodynamics of intercalated C60.
