Chubin D. Ecological and economic basis for sustainable development of the region

The theoretical concepts, the methodological and practical recommendations regarding to the formation of ecological and economic basis of sustainable regional development have been elaborated and substantiated in the dissertation; logical-conceptual framework of sustainable regional development and the relationship between concepts and categories had been updated; the imperatives of sustainable development of the region had been supplemented; the nature, place and role of the environmental factor had been identified, its influence on the development of the regional economic system had been determined; the complex analysis of Cherkasy region situation had been conducted; the main trends of regional changes interregional comparisons determined by the econtentplus and ecocapacity indicators; the indicators for assessing development of sustainability in the region is generated (with taking into account the territorial-natural factors); the methodical approach to assessing the regional development sustainability and a level of intra-regional processes stability had been also developed it is tested on the materials of Cherkasy region; the concept of sustainable regional development that based on the strategic orientation to the regional eco-environment and ecosystems preservation was elaborated; methodical approaches to the monitoring of sustainable development of the region was improved.
