The dissertation is devoted to the complex historical research of influence of abnormal natural phenomena on the socio-economic life of the Russian empire in the XVIIIth century. The scientific research is based on the historiography analysis of the topic and wide range of sources, the majority of which is introduced to the scientific community for the first time. The characteristics of climatic period and the frequency of anomalous natural phenomena during the climatic fluctuations were analyzed. Influence of climatic factors on outbreaks and damping of epidemics was discovered. The problem of impact abnormal natural phenomena in the speed of movement on land were investigated. Slowing the exchange of information during epidemics was explored. Unpredictable climatic anomalies often corrected the terms deliveries of military equipment and foodstuffs during military operations.
