The theoretical and methodological basis and practical recommendations concerning the development of cross-sectoral linkages in the agro-industrial complex of the region are grounded in the thesis; the scientific approaches to the formation and transformation of agricultural sector of the regional economics are systematized, the features of formation of cross-sectoral linkages in the agricultural sector in the region are defined; the principles of forming the integrated agro-industrial structures in the region under the influence of processes of cooperation and integration are explained; the comparative analysis of modern trends in functioning of the agro-industrial complex in the region is implemented and the characteristic features of the development of agricultural sphere of Cherkasy region are determined; the generic methodology for evaluation of the economic activity of agricultural enterprises is proposed, and which was approved on agricultural forming of Cherkasy region; the scientific basis for development of economic relations in the agricultural sector of the regional economics are substantiated and the mechanism of formation of cross-sectoral organizational and economic relations in integrated units is proposed; the directions of state support of integrated agro-industrial units at the regional level are defined and the monitoring of effectiveness of agro-industrial integration is implemented; the social and economic motives for the development of rural settlements are differentiated.
