Object - physiological and technical injuriousness of stem insects in pine plantations of the Left-bank Forest-Steppe; Aim - substantiation of timing of forest and timber protection from stem pests based on quantitative assessment of their injuriousness and peculiarities of colonization of trees and timber; methods - silvicultural, entomological, molecular, statistical; novelty - ability of 6 insect species to damage pine trees during maturation feeding was proved, 16 species were proved to vector the pathogens, including diplodiosis and blue-stain; the dates of stem insects' swarming, tree and timber colonization and development are determined; results -scoring of physiological, technical and general injuriousness of 53 stem insects from three families (Cerambycidae, Buprestidae, Curculionidae of the subfamily Scolytinae) in pine plantations Left-bank Forest-Steppe was carried out; phenological classification of stem insects in pine plantations for the period from the date of stable transition of temperature over 5°C in spring to stable transition of temperature below 15°C in autumn is developed; the dates of timber and wastes removal, trap trees establishment and debarking, as well as insecticide application for forest and timber protection from stem pests are determined; Branch of application - forestry.
