The object of study: the process of investment activity management in the region. Objective: justification of the scientific and methodological principles and developing of practical recommendations for improving the mechanism of risk management of investment activities in the region. Methods: analysis and synthesis, logic synthesis, historical and economic research, economic and statistical, structural and factor analysis, economic modeling and forecasting, dialectics, formal and system-structural, mapping and graphics. Novelty: improved conceptual approach to the formation mechanism of risk management of investment activities in the region, in which, unlike the present, specifies the principles of cooperation between regional authorities with the subjects of investment activities, elaborated suggestions for improving risk management in terms of mechanism components, methodological approach the choice of directions of reducing risks of investing activities in the region, according to which, unlike the others, highlighted two key directions: preventive and remedial under which systematize leverages of risk reduction for group criteria, methodical approach to comprehensive assessment risks of investment activities in the region according to which, unlike the existing ones, provides an determining of the integral index of internal regional risks of investment activities based on the assessment of determining parameters that characterize the level of risk in the economic, social, technical, environmental and crime areas of the region. Scope: in the activities of Lviv Regional Center for Investment and Development of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine in assessment of risk of investment activities in the region, Lviv Regional State Administration in management decisions in the implementation of public investment policy, the Department of Economic Development, Trade and Industry of Lviv Regional State Administration in the implementation of Investment Development Program of Lviv region in 2011-2015, of the Main Economic Department of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Administration in the development program of investment activity in Ivano-Frankivsk region for 2012-2016.
