Essay

A method for correlation femtoscopy of small systems that goes beyond the standard approach of independent non-coherent emitters and takes into account the partial indistinguishability and coherence of closely spaced centers of emission caused by the uncertainty principle is developed. Within the developed approach the femtoscopic pion radii in high multiplicity proton-proton collisions at the LHC are successfully described in hydrokinetic model. A possible mechanism of the formation of longitudinal long-range correlations in pseudorapidity is investigated.
