Avazashvili I. Diagnostics and surgical treatment of stenotic lesions extra cranial part of internal carotid artery

The thesis is devoted to the problem of problem of optimizing the efficiency of diagnosis and surgical treatment of patients with occlusive lesions of the proximal segment of the ICA. For this purpose, conducted complex clinical and instrumental diagnostic studies and developed a scheme to determine the significance of the degree of stenosis, plaque localization, determine the type and predict the morphological characteristics of the surface structure. Clinical studies are based on the material inpatient treatment 124 patients with occlusive lesions of the proximal ICA segments that are operated in emergency vascular neurosurgery clinic with renthenooperatsion from 2008 to 2013. Patients were divided into groups according to the criteria justify surgical method. Made 31 CE operations in 30 patients and 104 operations CAS ICA stenting. Analyzed the nearest and remote results and effectiveness of treatment (observation periods up to 36 months). Marked improvement in most patients (88,7%) observations in both groups, with no change - 1,1% deterioration - 7,8%, death - 2,2%.
