The theoretical approaches to the defining of the concept of competitiveness were considered, the theoretical - methodological principles of the concepts of the competitiveness of a country, a region, a company and a product were analyzed and the author's own interpretation of the said concepts was suggested in the dissertation research. The indicators of competitiveness were researched and the proposals for their improvement were submitted in the research work. The competitiveness of goods (products) is the ability of the goods or a group of goods, thanks to their original price and non-price characteristics, to meet the needs of the customers existing on the definite market and to attract potential customers.
