Nachychko V. The genus Thymus L. (Lamiaceae) in the flora of West Ukraine

A comprehensive study of the genus Thymus L. in the flora of West Ukraine has been conducted. The genus Thymus was determined to be represented by 9 species and 8 interspecific hybrids. The species T. jankae and the interspecific hybrids T. alternans x T. pulegioides and T. moldavicus x T. pannonicus have been noted in the West Ukraine for the first time. The first two taxa are new for the flora of Ukraine, T. alternans x T. pulegioides is new for the science. The lectotypification of T. pulcherrimus, as well as geographical, ecological-coenotic and sozological analyses of species of the genus have been done. A new subsectional replacement name T. subsect. Maroccani Nachychko has been proposed. The information on practical importance of thyme has been compiled.
