Essay

This thesis is devoted to the improvement of the high-speed high-rated diesel en-gines performance for power-boats propulsion and heavy-duty vehicle applications. The new concept for controlled two-stage turbocharging system was developed. Application of suggested turbocharging system with flexible control strategy results in up to 300 % increment of low-speed torque and up to 25 % increment of maximum torque for static operation, and up to 60 % increment of low-speed torque and up to 25 % increment of maximum torque for transient operation comparing with single turbocharger systems.
