The thesis covers the development of a solid-phase indicator system "I2-polyurethane foam" for the determination of I2 and through a chemical transformation of (a) various anionic forms of iodine (І-, ІО4-, ІО3-) in aqueous solutions to the molecular iodine; (b) other inorganic oxidants, e.g., BrO3-, NO2-, H2O2 by treatment with iodine yielding an equivalent quantity of molecular iodine; (c) reducing agent such as sulfur-containing S2O32- and medication Captopril with the uptake of an equivalent quantity of iodine; (d) a treatment of SCN- with iodate followed by a reduction of the excess of the iodate with iodide resulting in an equivalent quantity of the molecular iodine.
