Pankratova M. Features of the exchange bias in the layered ferro/antiferromagnetic systems

This thesis is devoted to the theoretical study of the exchange bias and its features in ferromagnetic films on an antiferromagnetic substrate. Shifted asymmetrical external field dependences of the magnetization of these systems, on which horizontal plateaus and inclined parts may be observed, are obtained. Cases of the perfect and nonuniform interface ferromagnet/antiferromagnet are considered. It is shown that the features of the exchange bias phenomenon is associated with the formation of inhomogeneous distribution of the magnetization in the ferromagnetic film, and the field dependence of the magnetization has qualitatively the same type in the cases of perfect and inhomogeneous interface.
