Essay

The thesis is devoted to study of the boundary friction processes within the framework of the nanoscale tribological system model, as well as to analysis of shear melting in solid state. The behavior of two types of tribological systems has been described: during the displacement of the upper friction surface in one direction and under the external alternating influence. It has been determined that both the mode of damped oscillations and auto-oscillating mode, presented in the form of a strange attractor, may be established dependending on the temperature and parameters of the lubricant.
