Essay

The present paper breaks new ground in the integrated study of semantic, structural and functional manifestations of parody of genre models in British postmodernist fictional texts. The fiction politics of contemporaneity reflects diversified patterns of language forms and its functions. This has brought to life the experimental (postmodernist) writing whose key principles include non-selection, fragmentation, collage, destruction, parody, play. Postmodernist aesthetics caused blurring of traditional genre canons that leads to contamination of syncretic genre compounds through parodic transformation of traditional genre models.
