The theoretical and methodological bases and practical recommendations regarding the forming the food securities of the region are grounded in the thesis; the essential characteristics of food security of the region and its basic components are summarized; the conceptual and categorical apparatus of forming the food security of the region is refined; the criteria of food security of the region, as well as factors that have influence on it are defined and structured; the methodical approach to assessing the level of food security of the region is developed; as a result of testing conducted regional grouping in terms of food security and identifies potential threats to ensure its proper level; the main trends of development of food security of the regions in Ukraine are characterized; the organizational and economic support of process of food security of the region is developed; the priority directions of state regulation of food security of the regions in Ukraine are grounded; the methodical recommendations for programming the regional development in the part of increasing the level of food security of the region are supplemented; the organizational and economic mechanism of forming the food security of the region.
