Essay

The research object - optical digital images, which are used in telecommunication systems and facilities. The research goal - increasing the accuracy for methods of digital images visual quality assessment in telecommunication systems and facilities. Research methods - methods of correlation and statistical analysis, computer modeling, machine learning and experimental. Practical value – an algorithmic software allowing application of suggested methods for specific practical tasks is developed. Novelty - the method of full-reference visual quality metrics verification is further developed; method of visual quality assessment of full-reference images is improved; the no-reference image database is firstly proposed; the method of visual quality assessment of no-reference images is improved; the method of combining multiple full-reference or no-reference visual image quality metrics is further developed. Level of integration - industrial. Area of using - data processing in telecommunication systems.
