Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of melioration role of fungi-aulophytes in phytomelioration of territories polluted with sulfur. Industrial transformations of different degree of soil types have developed during exploitation of Podorozhnenska quarry. There, different degrees of secondary succession of plant communities have been designated. Content of heavy metals and sulfur compound has considerably exceeded maximum allowance concentration in technical and embryotic soils, which negatively effects growth and development of ecosystem components. 101 species, 28 genera, 7 families and 3 classes have been identified in the species composition. The basis of fungi compound has been formed by more varied fungi species at technological and embryotic soils, in comparison with local soils, which is determined by primary stages of succession. During vegetative period, number of fungi propagules 3-6 times prevails in local soils and 2-3 times - in embryotic soils. Melanin-containing species are more typical in technical and embryotic soils, due to their resistance to sulfur pollution. Influence of artificial mycorrhization reduces number of dark colored fungi and increases species composition of micromycetes in soil. The most active species in sulfur transformation are considered to be Phoma sp., P. pomorum, P. glomerata. Mycorrhization product has been made on the basis of the above-mentioned fungi. Its use improves growth and development of seedlings, improves its genus, increases survival of forest cultures and reduces number of loss up to 25%. Costs economy to create forest cultures constitutes 1425 hrn/ha. Possibility to create phytomeliorative forest stands on the territory of sand quarries is connected with the application of natural succession of phyto- and mycomelirants implementing mycorrhization technologies to grow planting material of tree and scrub species and to create forest cultures.
