In the thesis, a factor analysis of the prerequisites for system reforms in the Arab monarchies of the Gulf has been conducted. Characteristics of the process of democratization of the political life of the GCC states as well as peculiarities of the modernization of the power structures and the extension of powers of government bodies have been examined. The results of the fight against corruption and nepotism in the Gulf countries have been analyzed. The efficiency of interaction of the GCC states with G8 in the implementation of reforms has been assessed. The state of diversification and reorientation of the economy of the GCC countries has been studied while the prospects for forming a full-fledged market economy and enhancing the role of private sector in the economic development have been defined. The process of modernization of the financial and banking system as well as peculiarities of the liberalization of investment activities in the Gulf countries have been analyzed. The present state and prospects for the creation of a modern industrial, information and communication environment in the Arab monarchies of GCC have been examined. The processes of the deepening of inter-Arab economic integration within GCC in the age of globalization have been evaluated. The light has been shed on the issues of preservation of the national, cultural and religious identity of the Gulf in the context of mass labor immigration and "Westernization". Modern experience of the GCC states in addressing relevant social and economic problems has been examined.
