The thesis is based on a wide range of sources disclosed ideas of "Prague Spring", conditions, causes and stages their forming in 1956-1968. It was established that the Twentieth Party Congress became the main prerequisite for the early formation of liberal ideas in Czechoslovakia, and the main reason - was the need to overcome the economic crisis. In the development of the ideas of the "Prague Spring" it can be divided into two periods - the first - 1956-1961 and the second - 1962-1967. This separation was caused by manifestations of conservative reaction of A. Novotn'y regime. A significant boost to the liberal ideas was given by writers at II, III and especially IV in the Congress of Czechoslovak Writers Union, which was the scene of open criticism of the political regime of A. Novotn?, also in the debate about the effectiveness of economic management. Special contribution to the ideological basis forming of liberalization process was made Czechoslovak by philosophers and historians.
