Essay

In the dissertation the reflection and transmission of linear and nonlinear electromagnetic waves through the layered superconductors of finite size is studied theoretically. It is shown that the dependence of the transmission coefficient of nonlinear waves on the incident wave amplitude has hysteretic behavior. The method for solving problems of transformation of nonlinear waves with any polarizations in layered superconductors is proposed. The mutual transformation of polarizations of nonlinear transverse electric and transverse magnetic waves is described. It is shown that the external magnetic field can be effectively used to control the transparency of layered superconductors.
