Essay

Using the phenomenological Landau - Lifshitz - Slonzewski - Berger model stable periodic magnetic structures are predicted theoretically in thin nanomagnets under the influence of spin-polarized current. A linear theory of instability of the saturation state is created for the case of infinite magnetic film and the dependence of the saturation current on the film thickness is investigated. Conservation laws are established for the periodic structures induced by spin-polarized current. Influences of boundary effects and additional external magnetic fields on saturation process and periodic structure formation under the action of spin-polarized current are investigated.
