Essay

The situation of Ukrainian community in conditions of social, political and economic crisis in Poland in 1980th is investigated. Ukrainian life peculiarities before the rise of crisis are highlighted. It is founded that as a result of harsh state-party apparatus policy assimilation of Poland Ukrainian minority, transfered to the north-western lands of the country, was devoided of the right for management of cultural, educational and religious activities. The events that took place in life of Ukrainians in Poland during 1980-1990's became an important stage to their self-affirmation as a national minority.
