Earth's crust of the Dniepr-Donetsk and Azov-Black Sea oil- and gas- bearing regions to increase efficiency of estimating prospects of hydrocarbon discoveries using magnetometry . Special emphasis has been put on detailing models for prospective hydrocarbon objects within the Ukrainian sectors of the Azov and Black Seas including Abikh, Subbotin and Pallas discoveries. The structural-genetic relationships have been studied between magnetic anomalies of different classes and deep structures of the crust and features of the sedimentary cover. The methodology has been improved of 3D magnetic modelling and interpreting its results. Association has been found between magnetic inhomogeneity of the crystalline crust and sedimentary cover, on the one side, and deep faults, on other side. These faults have been shown to serve as canals for hydrocarbons transporting from an accumulation itself and the mantle. A regional criterion has been first formulated for oil and gas presence, namely belonging hydrocarbon accumulations to marginal parts of magnetic blocks and faults of different orders or to knots of faults intersections. The Abikh and Pallas have been concluded to be prospective for prospecting for hydrocarbons.
