Essay

The thesis presents the results of experimental studies of chemical reactions impact on the structure and physico-mechanical properties of synthesized composite materials as well as new titanium diboride and alumina based ceramic composites with high hardness and fracture toughness fabrication. TiB2 and Al2O3 formation kinetics in the system of Ti (28%) - Al (31%) - B2O3 (41%) were investigated. Composite structure development and mechanical properties of TiB2-Al2O3 based ceramics obtained by reaction hot pressing of boron oxide, titanium and aluminum powders presented.
