The thesis is devoted to the improvement of theoretical and methodical positions and practical recommendations on the evaluation and prediction of the economic potential of the region.Developed a coherent methodology for assessing and forecasting the economic potential of the region, whose implementation in an integrated and systematic approach allowed to diagnose the efficiency of formation and use of the economic potential of regions of Ukraine, consideration of which the system of strategic planning and management required to ensure sustainable functioning regional economic growth.The methodical approach to forecasting the economic potential of the region, based on the use of neural network technology system that allowed for making weather the economic potential of Ukraine's regions and thanks to the adaptation process for new data to develop strategies for their economic development.A refinement of conceptual and structural unit of economic potential of the region on the basis of comparative and content analysis, allowing to explore this multilevel and multidimensional phenomenon in regional and structural sections.
