The thesis is devoted to research of theoretical basis and justification of practical mechanisms for increased strategic management of competitiveness of the regional economy. Modern approaches to the essence of competitiveness, proved the feasibility of the strategic management of a system approach. The estimation of competitiveness of the region, identified trends in the use of innovation and human potential. The thesis justified the use of modern market and administrative mechanisms of activation of the strategic management of competitiveness.
