The object of the research - the forest stands of the National Natural Park "Huzulschyna." The subject of the research - the state, the structure, forestry restoration processes and the principles of environmental management in the main types of the tree stands of the NNP "Huzulschyna". The purpose of the work - to identify the current state, to examine the structure and the processes of restoration of the forest stands, to study the principles of environmental management in the context of functional areas of the NNP "Huzulschyna." The research methods - reconnaissance, forest inventory, comparative ecology monitoring, logistics analysis, geoinformational, the variation statistics and mathematical modeling. The scientific novelty - set the positive changes in the state of forests for most monitoring characteristics (class of its damage, age of needles, viability, marketability, the length of crown, defoliation, dehromation) and a significant decrease in the intensity affection in the forests of the NNP by the pathogens in the last decade, and that natural changes in clear natural spruce stands aimed at forming spruce forests and have no signs of a sharp stand deterioration or drying; revealed deterioration of stands of original spruce and state of European spruces as a part of oak, beech and fir forests and vice versa - a condition of silver fir and beech in natural stands has steadily improved; improved the environmental management principles in the context of economic complexes in the Park and a system of doing of local monitoring of Park forests according to the methods of the program "ICP-Forest"; have a further developed foundation of a progress of the forests restoration processes in spruce-fir-beech, spruce-fir, beech, hornbeam, oak and spruce-fir forest stands. The practical meaning. The results of the researches reflected in tested methods of research objects and in practical recommendations which is implemented now in the forestry and environmental activities of the NNP "Huzulschyna" (forest monitoring techniques, sampling methods and studying of pollution in forests, the recommendations of the overhaul spruce stands in the NPP "Huzulschyna"). The results are used to prepare the annual scientific reports of the NNP "Huzulschyna" ("Chronicles of Nature") and justification of environmental pro-tection measures in the forests of the Park, formation of cuttings and improvement of forests, sanitary- recreational activities and other use of forests. The received results of the research can also be used in the teaching of subjects - "Forestry", "Sustainable forest management", "Closeness to nature forestry", in the training process of the specialists in direction "Forestry and garden-park management" at Universities of the III-IV degrees of accreditation.
