Hrabar M. Systematic development of tourism and recreation in the region.

The major objective of this thesis is to find appropriate solutions to theoretical, methodical and practical tasks in order to ensure efficient systematic development of tourism and recreation in the region.This study examines conceptual basis for systematic development of the region, considers modern concepts of regional development, with tourist recreational sphere serving as an example and identifies the characteristics of institutional foundations as well as infrastructural provision needed for systematic development of the region.The author carried out thorough investigation into methodical aspects of assessment of systemic development of tourism and recreation in the region. The following studies have been performed: assessment of spatial asymmetry of tourism and recreation in different regions; dynamic analysis of the developmental level of tourist recreational sphere in Zakarpattya, which was carried out on the basis of the systemized groups of indices supplemented with the index of seasonal prevalence calculated by the author as well as determination of the contribution of this sphere into the gross regional product; expert diagnostics of systematic problems referring to adaptation of tourist and recreational sphere to systemic approach to the management of the region.The thesis suggests possible solutions to improvement of the systematic development of tourism and recreation in the region achievable by means of programmed objective-oriented method of management. Tourist recreational specialization of the region has been investigated. A well-grounded model stimulating the development of tourism and recreation in the region has been suggested implementing financial, informational-marketing and organizational methods. An economic mathematical model has been developed in order to make prognosis concerning the amount of the tourist recreational services provided.
