Essay

Object: regional inter-American system of international relations 1939 - 1948. Goal: definition of foreign policy of Argentina and Chile in the context of their relations with the United States during the preparation and implementation of decisions regarding participation in World War II and the establishment of the OAS. Methods: problematic-chronological, comparative-historical, generalization, classification, synthesis. Non-sufficiently studied aspects of the political, economic and military relations of Argentina, Chile and USA are developed on the basis of a wide range of sources and historiography. The problem of the Lend-Lease program for Chile is determined. The place of Argentina and Chile in the inter-American system of international relations is investigated. The position of Argentina and Chile in the 2-nd World War is identified. The evolution of the Latin American policy of the United States at the different stages of the war is analyzed. Also main steps of creating a military-political alliance in the western hemisphere are defined. Profitability of the making of the OAS for the United States and countries in South America are proved.
