Essay

The dissertation covers some features of pathological changes in the venous wall in the foam sclerosant application in order to substantiation of use a sclerosurgical method of varicose veins treatment. Based on the clinical and experimental morphological study there have been revealed pathomorphological features of the foam sclerosant action in the early and late postoperative periods. The degree of acute manifestation of alternative processes in the venous wall and microcirculatory blood flow impairments has been found to be dependent on the concentration of the agent. The dynamics of veins sclerosis has been revealed. The morphogenesis of sclerosing has been proved to be promoted through thrombogenesis with further thrombus organisation up to complete obstruction of the vein lumen and haemosiderin deposition in the zone of sclerosis. Experiments proved that the agent effect extends to paravasal structures and collateral vessels and that sclerosant in the applied dose does not have an influence on organs, since no pathomorphological changes was found in the internal organs and brain of animals. Findings of the performed study have allowed providing a rationale for the sclerosing agent use that can improve outcomes for patients with varicose pathology.
