Essay

The object of study - electrical phenomena in amorphous and ceramics dielectrics. The purpose of research - to establish a pattern of crystallization process of the amorphous phase, to identify the mechanisms of influence of phase composition and morphology of the electrical properties of the compounds Li2O-xGeO2. Differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, measuring the electrical properties in AC field and NMR spectroscopy are applied as the experimental methods. The mechanisms of phase composition and morphology influence on charge transfer and space-charge polarization phenomena are discussed on the basis of the results obtained. It is shown that thermal treatment of the glasses makes it possible to obtain the compounds studied in the intermediate nanocrystalline state with increased electrical conductivity. It is demonstrated that creation of heterophase nanodispersed media is the effective tool to obtain the dielectrics with high ionic conductivity. It demonstrated that Li2O-xGeO2 compounds are promising for the development of materials with high ionic conductivity for use as solid electrolytes in the current sources. The results of the dissertation can be also used in teaching the disciplines "Solid State Physics" and "Physics of nanoscale systems."
