Essay

The object of investigation: the reactive power consumption of the processes with electric voltage thyristor converters. Objective: improvement of energy efficiency of electric drives with voltage thyristor converters by reducing energy losses in electric networks due to reactive power compensation. Methods: the drive theory and the theory of electrical machines, electrical circuits theory, the method of simulation processes and consumption of reactive power compensation, the method of least squares and the method of design of experiments. Theoretical and practical results: reactive power theory for non-sinusoidal modes is that the developed methods for determining reactive power of asynchronous electric drives with voltage thyristor converters and thyristor electric DC-based reactive current input coefficients, which depend on the angle of thyristor control. Implications for practice is that the developed method allows to determine the capacity of the capacitors for reactive power compensation and, consequently, reduce the loss of electricity in power grids. Scientific novelty: The method of calculation and reactive power compensation electric voltage with thyristor converters based on control angle of the thyristors.
