Essay

The dissertation study of involvement of carbohydrate determinant of plasma glycoproteins and of residues of sialic acids of membranes of lymphocytes in the development and course of chronic lympho- and myeloproliferative blood diseases was undertaken, and the influence of chemotherapeutic treatment on the processes of sialylation/desialylation of plasma glycoproteins and of membranes of lymphocytes was analyzed. The increase in the concentration of total sialic acids in blood plasma of patients with oncohematological diseases is installed. The treatment with chemotherapeutic drugs has led to increase the amount of sialic acids in ? 2,6 linkage and to a decrease in ? 2,3 linkage. In patients with B-chronic lympholeucosis the alkylating therapy reduces the number of lymphocytes with increased content of sialic acids on their surface.
