Pochtaruk I. Organizational-economic maintenance of coal industry competitiveness in the Western region of Ukraine

The object of study: the process of functioning and development of the coal industry in the region. Objective: the deepening of the theoretical and methodical foundations and developing of practical recommendations for improving organizational and economic tools and mechanisms for ensuring the competitiveness of the coal industry in the region. Methods: abstract-logical, analysis and synthesis, systematic and structural analysis, comparative, econometric analysis, mathematical statistics. Novelty: improved conceptual approaches to ensuring the competitiveness of the coal industry in the region, concepts and categories of the research, including deepening of nature of the concept "competitiveness of the coal industry in the region", methodological approaches to assessing the competitiveness of the coal industry in the region by way of identifying its comparative advantages in indexes which indicate the level of monopolization and the degree of concentration of coal production market, optimization model for improving the competitiveness degree of coal enterprises in the region, which, unlike applied, adapted to the specifics of the coal industry and is aimed at optimizing the production activities of coal enterprises under conditions of the influence of external factors and allow to predict changes in economic parameters of work of separate mines and mine departments. Scope of application: in the activities of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine in the development the Program of reforming of the public sector in coal industry, Lviv Regional State Administration during the preparation of the Strategy of Lviv region development until 2020, State Enterprise "Volynvuhillya" in the process of developing the Program of economic development of enterprise on prospect with the achievement of break-even level of work, in the educational process of the Ternopil National Economic University.
