Thesis based on involvement and analysis of a wide range of late antique and early medieval written sources and archaeological evidence, domestic and foreign research literature comprehensively examines the origins, conditions and causes of the war of the Hun tribal alliance, led by Attila, against the Western Roman Empire in 451-455. The basic course of events is shown against the background of revitalization process of the Great Migration, traced Attila's personal relationship with Roman military leader Aetius, described consequences of the war for Hun state.
