Polovska V. Intensification of the development of mountain areas of the region

The thesis is devoted to the investigation of theoretical and practical aspects of balanced territorial development of mountain areas. The level of development of mountain areas taking into account important components, such as economic, social and environmental has been grounded. The analysis of regional natural and social conditions and characteristics of mountain areas in the context of positional properties and functions of the area, including natural and climatic conditions, environment and its quality, available natural potential, and social properties that are determined by the capacity and cultivation of the area as well as demographic, social business (economic) and environmental characteristics of the territory. On the basis of the generalization of foreign experience, taking into account the institutional framework, reasonably promising directions of intensification of the development of mountainous areas have been justified. There has been suggested an integrated approach to analyzing and forming systems of intensification of the development of mountain areas of the region by establishing scientific approaches, principles, priorities, goals and objectives, as well as forming an effective institutional management mechanism by selecting the appropriate tools, the use of which will promote the expression of potential possibilities and ensuring their effective use to enhance the development and increase competitiveness of mountain areas of the region.
