Essay

The object of research: the process of testing a high-voltage power cable in the conditions of production. Aim: increasing the speed and reliability of the control cable short-term overload capacity in the conditions of production. Research method and equipment: using the analogy of electrical and thermal field to determine the temperature distribution in the cable construction; method of heat balance in a steady state to develop a model of the cable conductor heating; similarity criteria of thermal processes for determining the parameters of the cooling of the cable in the air. Theoretical and practical results: a method of controlling short-term overload capacity of high-voltage cable was developed. A model of the heating wires in the initial period of switching cable was developed. Novelty: first proposed a new operational method for assessing the short-term overload capacity of high-voltage cable; first developed a model of adiabatic heating wires in the initial period of the turn of the cable; for the first time developed a system of process control parameters overload capacity cables. Degree of implementation: it developed and tested in a range of production apparatus for determination the quantitative index of short-term overload capacity (patent of Ukraine № 64306). The results are used in the performance of state budgetary research work at PJSC YUZHCABLE WORKS and in the educational process of the department insulating and cable technology in NTU "KPI". Field of use: electrotechnical and cable industries.
