Garkusha O. Formation of microalgal communities on different substrates in the coastal zone of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov

The role of substrate in the formation of microalgal communities on seaweeds in comparison to artificial materials that imitate the shape of thallus, as well as dead plant substrate has been established. The features of microalgal communities of natural and refilled sandy beaches of Ukrainian part of the Azov-Black Sea coast are investigated with the originally developed technique of quantitative assessment of microalgal communities in the sandy substrate. The influence of interstitial water and products of decomposition of different origin wracks (seaweeds, eelgrass and mussels) on the development of microalgae of sandy and rocky intertidal zone of Odessa region were studied.
