Essay

The work is devoted to solve the actual problem: development of seismic method to research the anisotropy and symmetry of real geological medium with any symmetry. The generalization and analysis was carried out of elastic wave anisotropy parameters for rock-forming clay minerals in the transversely isotropic approximation. The symmetry and the full component set of elastic constants tensor matrix were defined for sedimentary rocks by inversion of phase and radial indicatrices of quasi-longitudinal and quasi-shear waves in sedimentary strata according to the VSP data. The azimuthal anisotropy parameters of dynamic elastic modulus were obtained for sedimentary rocks with different lithology based on field seismic survey data. The algorithm and application of hodograph surface numerical calculation was developed and tested for horizontally-layered medium with triclinic symmetry. The assessment method of kinematic corrections was developed for non-hyperbolic hodograph surface of reflected wave.
