Liventseva H. The geological premises for the formation of man- caused systems coal massifs of the Lviv-Volyn basin

Based on the international and national experience of studying of geological premises for man-caused systems of coal massifs, the new-formed gas collectors of the Lviv-Volyn basin were determined as the local gas-bearing objects. The specific examples describe the paragenetic connections of coal and hydrocarbon deposits within the Lviv-Volyn basin. The description of geological and ecological environment is given, the environmental characteristics of man-caused coal-bearing massifs and effects of coal mining on the geological and ecological environment were defined. The optimal complex of studies to establish common, necessary and sufficient criterion for potential man-caused gas collectors was substantiated. According to the established criterion the man-caused systems of the Lviv-Volyn basin were ranged and six specific local projects were identified. The objects of first priority for the development of new-formed man-caused systems of coal massifs are Tyahlivske coal deposit, Velykomostivske gas deposit and mines "Lisova", "Stepova" located within Chervonograd geological and industrial district. The second priority of local objects includes Zabuzke and Mezhyrichensky coal deposits. Volynske and Lubelske deposits are in the zone of gas weathering so they are the least perspective. To increase the resource potential of energy balance of Ukraine it is necessary to continue the development of the Lviv-Volyn basin including the new-formed man-caused systems.
