Myronchuk K. Ecological and biological characteristics of hedges formation under conditions of the Bukovynian Precarpathians.

The object of study - hedges in urbanized ecosystems of the Bukovinian Precarpathians. The goal is to establish the species composition, structure, ecological and biological features, and functionality of hedges in urbanized ecosystems of the Bukovinian Precarpathians as well as the development of scientific basis for improving the formation of enduring and highly decorative hedges. Research methods - general scientific; cartographical; floristic; phenological; pedological; mathematical statistical. Scientific novelty- for the first time: a systematic analysis has been carried out of the dendroflora of hedges in the settlements of the Bukovinian Precarpathians; the features of ecological, species, age and spatial structure of hedges have been revealed; a comprehensive assessment has been made of the quality and decorative properties of hedges in urban ecosystems; the close correlation has been established between the shoot growth of woody plants in hedgerows and humus content in the soil, and the gross growth of plant shoots and the content of total forms of heavy metals in the topsoil; a classification of complex hedges has been developed based on the spatial structure of standard hedges that form a complex element of landscape design: by spatial structure; by species composition of plants, by shape and structure of the cross section, by the number of standard elements of hedges and by height.
