Essay

The class of tasks devoted to the transformation of surface waves by submerged obstacles that have relatively simple shape (step, bar, barrier) and can be used as breakwaters or included as part of large constructions is examined in the frames of the model of an ideal incompressible fluid. The problems are reduced to the Laplace equa-tion for the velocity potential with appropriate boundary conditions at the bottom and on the free surface.
