Essay

Dissertation is devoted to experimental and theoretical study of deformation properties of swelling soil in hydrothermal conditions. It was obtained changes in physical & mechanical and deformation & rheological parameters of swelling soils during wetting with hydrothermal water at temperature T=40...80 °C, and these parameters were compared with values obtained during wetting with hydrothermal water at temperature T=18...20 °C. It was found that the swelling deformation of hydrothermal wetting at T=40...80 °C is higher than the deformations of wetting at T=18...20 °C in 1.2-1.52 times. It was also found that during water wetting at temperature T=40...80 °C a swelling trajectory array surface can be described as a square parabola under free swelling when the sealing pressure is , i.e. there are no external loads. This form of swelling is the most dangerous, while ensuring sustainability and carrying capacity of structures built on an array of swelling soils.
