Essay

The thesis is devoted to studying the processes of mass, momentum and energy transfer in three-phase polydisperse flows with strong interaction of discrete inclusions. We present the constructed complete system of differential equations about the mass, flow rate, velocity, temperature, and mass content of «foreign» phase for drops and solid particles as well as about gas composition and temperature as applied to the working process in hollow and Venturi scrubbers. The thesis contains the results of numerical investigations of the influence of different factors (water flow rate, initial velocities of the phases, average size of the drops, the cross-section of their introduction, and the scale of turbulent fluctuations in Venturi scrubbers) on the efficiency of gas cleaning in the investigated apparatus. We have found the optimal conditions of realization of the working process in scrubbers and developed recommendations for enhancing the efficiency of wet gas cleaning.
