The author of thesis based on involvement and analysis of a wide range of medieval written sources, domestic and foreign research literature comprehensively examines the origins, conditions and causes of the emergence of popular religious movements in Southern France against the Roman Catholic Church. The basic course of events and the consequences of the Albigensian Crusade in 1209-1229 is shown in the work. The author characterized valuable reference points, the dogmatic framework and organizational structure of the key religious movements Languedoc during twelfth and fourteenth centuries.
