Kraylyuk A. The impact of parental guidance on the choice of a marriage partner

This dissertation is dedicated to research of parental attitudes, which are the main factors in choosing a marriage partner. The theoretical analysis of scientific approaches for dealing with social and psychological factors on marriage partner choice is conducted in this paper, as well as the conception of choice as a psychological phenomenon and notion of mindset in the context of their impact on the choice of a marriage partner is analyzed. The close connection between parental attitudes and characteristics for marriage partner selection both for men and for women are found; distinctive features in the interactions in parental family and the strength, duration of relationships, marriage partner satisfaction. The correlation models of parental guidance and characteristics for marriage partner selection are identified: for women - complementarity, father's prototype reiteration, both parents imitation, partial reproduction, transmission of negative experiences, positive dynamics simulation; for men - repeat of the negative experiences, transmission of positive experiences, complementarity, restoration of internal conflict, imitation of constructive relations.
